We offer classes for dancers of all skill levels, ages 3-adult
To allow each student an appropriate amount of one-on-one attention, classes are typically limited to 12-15 dancers. All students will perform in our end-of-year recital in the spring.
Our recital is like no other, we pay attention to every detail and it is like watching a broadway show. We only stop for intermission which means there are no black outs or curtains coming down between dances, each of our dances runs into the next which makes the show entertaining and more enjoyable.
Our Director, Kelly Ann Legge
Kelly has been dancing since the age of 5 years old. her training began with Linda Leshine of Les Petites Academy of Dance, Manalapan, New Jersey. At age 11 she was excepted into the academy’s company, and after 1 year became a soloist, receiving many principle roles. Kelly went on to receive a scholarships to Garden State Ballet and the Academy of Dance Arts. Looking to further her dance training, Kelly attended classes at the Joffery School of Ballet in NYC.
Kelly has studied the RAD, Russian, and Checchti methods of ballet and combines all of the methods into her teaching. She has been teaching dance since the age of 17, and for 6 years was the co- director of Ocean Academy of Dance. Kelly is an award winning choreographer receiving recognition at the regional and national levels of dance competition. Part of her success has been training young dancers who have gone onto win prestigious titles. Kelly has also had several students accepted into well known ballet academies such as The Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington, D.C. , The American Academy of Ballet, The Joffrey, NYC, and The Koltun Ballet, Boston, MA to name a few.
IOur class placement philosophy is based solely on a child’s ability and potential not their age, grade, or time dancing. Dance is not like school where a child finishes one grade and moves on to the next. Everyone progresses differently and at their own pace. In order to keep a child motivated and to give them the level of training necessary, it is important not to push them to quickly. Dance is very difficult and precise and to push a child ahead to quickly is doing them a disservice.
